So up for sales is this 2006 Ford Focus ST3 with the 2.5 5 cylinder turbo charged engine. The car its self has come to a point where it’s going to need some work for its next mot. The good points are the engines sweet it pulls well no issues with smoking on start up or under load and the car starts hot or cold with out an issue. The gear box is tight no noises or wines. I’m going to say this now a good engine and gear box for one of these will set you back £1500 so please refrain from making stupid offers.
The paint work has started to loose lacquer in places as shown in the photos. There is also some rust bubbling through again shown in the pictures and some fading in places but as the photos show even for a 20 year Old Ford this car has stood the test of time well. The interior is really nice and everything seems to work as it should including the heated seats. If you check out the mot history on line you will see as with all Old Ford’s it’s going to need some bits doing under the car for its next mot. I’ve had my head under it and yes it’s crusty in places but it’s definitely not a rot box. The front and rear subframes both have corrosion like you would expect on a 20 year old car they could possibly be cleaned up and might make another year or so for the mot but if you assume your replacing them and you don’t have to then that would be best. All in all this is a nice example for its age that hasn’t been under sealed to hide all matter of issues . The heart of the car and the bones of it are good it just needs someone willing to put in some work to make it what will eventually be a classic Ford hot hatch that will only go up in value. You can drive it away, it drives well and is loads of fun and a £2000 for the colour combination and being ST3 your going to struggle to find a better buy. As far as I’m aware this hasn’t been tuned and doesn’t have the block mod done. Viewings are via appointment only between 9am and 5pm Monday to Friday and Saturday mornings.
